Audra Schwartz
Town of Monroe Justice
Judge Audra Schwartz is proud to serve as Monroe Town Justice, a position she has held since 2018, and as the senior judge since 2020. With over 30 years of legal experience and two decades of community service in Monroe, she has built a record rooted in fairness, integrity, and results.
When she and her husband moved to Monroe in 2002 to raise their two sons, they knew it was where they wanted to build a life. She has spent the past two decades giving back—first as a volunteer on the Conservation Committee, later as a member and the Chair of the Planning Board, and now as a judge working every day to keep Monroe safe, fair, and strong.
In court, she handles everything from misdemeanors and traffic violations to landlord-tenant disputes and small claims, as well as felony arraignments and town and state code violations. She takes the job seriously because the stakes are real—every case impacts the community and someone’s life. She upholds the law firmly, but always with fairness and integrity.
Outside the courtroom, as the senior judge, she leads the court’s administration and budgeting. Under her leadership the court has secured over $40,000 in grant funding to make the court more accessible and launched language-specific traffic dockets to better serve all residents. She also serves as the lead coordinator for Orange County’s Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP), helping ensure off hours access to justice for the entire county.
Being Town Judge isn’t a stepping stone for her—it’s a calling. She is running for re-election because she loves this town and believes Monroe deserves a judge who’s experienced, dedicated, and fully committed to serving this community.
