Monroe, NY — Judge Audra Schwartz is proud to announce her campaign for re-election as Monroe Town Justice in the upcoming November 4, 2025 election.
A respected member of the Monroe community since 2002 and an attorney practicing for over 30 years, Judge Schwartz has served on the bench since 2018 and as the senior judge of the Monroe Town Court since 2020.
“Serving as Town Justice is one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Judge Schwartz. “This role impacts the safety and integrity of our entire community. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and afforded full due process under the law. At the same time, laws must be enforced firmly to protect our community. I take these responsibilities seriously every single day.”

In addition to presiding over a wide range of cases—including felony arraignments, misdemeanor trials, traffic violations, town and state code violations, landlord tenant matters and small claims—Judge Schwartz also leads critical behind-the-scenes operations. As the lead coordinator of the Orange County Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP), she ensures that off-hour arraignments are handled promptly, efficiently, and fairly for the entire county. Under her leadership, the court has also secured over $40,000 in grant funding to improve the Monroe Town Court’s accessibility and efficiency.
Judge Schwartz is known for her fair and firm judicial approach, her deep ties to Monroe, and her commitment to making the justice system work for all residents. Over the past two decades, she has served on the Monroe Planning Board, the Conservation Committee, and as a volunteer for local causes—while raising her two sons in the town with her husband.
Judge Schwartz will be running on the Democratic line and is currently collecting petition signatures to run on the Preserve Monroe line.
She is proudly endorsed by:
IBEW Local Union 363 of Hudson Valley
Orange County Correction Officers Benevolent Association
Preserve Monroe
Town of Monroe Democratic Committee
Working Families Party
“This is not a stepping stone for me—I’m running because I care deeply about this community,” said Judge Schwartz. “I’ve been doing the work, day in and day out, and I would be honored to continue serving the people of Monroe for another four years.”
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Vote for Experience. Vote for Dedication. Re-Elect Judge Audra Schwartz.
